Manganese
and Zinc deficiencies commonly occur in citrus, vines and horticulture
in general. Horti Mix combines these two trace elements in soluble
form.
Manganese is used as an enzyme activator in the leaf enabling photosynthesis.
Manganese deficiency may cause poor skin finish on potatoes and may
become more susceptible to mechanical damage during harvest.
Zinc deficiency causes stunting of young plants and upward rolling of
young, chlorotic leaves suggestive of early leaf roll virus symptoms.
Early treatment is important if maximum yields
are to be achieved.
Application
Rates
Citrus
Horti Mix is best absorbed if applied when the leaf flush
is 50% expanded, usually in spring prior to fruit set. If a second spray
is required apply when summer leaf flush is 50% expanded. Add 2kg Horti
Mix to 1000 litres of water and apply adequate volume to thoroughly
wet the foliage to run-off.
Vines
Apply Horti Mix ten to fourteen days before flowering.
Add 2kg Horti Mix to 1000lt litres of water and apply adequate volume
to wet the foliage to run-off. The volume of spray required will be
up to 1000 litres per hectare.
Potatoes
and Onions
Add up to 2kg Horti Mix to 1000 litres of water and apply
adequate volume to wet the foliage to run-off. Apply when sufficient
leaf area is available to hold spray.
